Springtime in the Shenandoah
As a JMU Duke, I got to experience a lot of really neat things. One neat thing in particular was getting to attend a speaking event featuring President Jimmy Carter. At that event, President Carter began his presentation by reminding us that we live in the most beautiful place on Earth, the Shenandoah Valley. I would have to agree with that statement 100%. I have lived in or nearby the Valley for pretty much my entire life and am so blessed to have grown up in such a fantastic place.
This past Easter Sunday, I took some photos around our family farm in the Valley. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
You know Spring is in full bloom when you see the famous Bluebells along the river!
Of course, everything else is blooming too! Hello, allergies..
Every Spring we get to watch a few little ones come into the world. This year, we met a tiny gray calf that Daw-Daw named 'Blossom'. As you can see, she is quite the little model.
Maggie, the guard dog on the farm, is always getting into trouble and never leaves Dad's side..
My brother, Daniel, channeling his inner marksman..
One thing is for sure, it's never boring around here! And you can always find someone, or something, to keep you company..
So that's us! We've got a pretty good spot here along the river. You will probably be seeing a lot more of it because it's one of my favorite spots for photo sessions. Oh, and Wes and I are in the [very long and slow] process of building a house here! Stay tuned for details..
Cheers, Casey
